How to create a dome with plasterboard
Step 1
Measure up the desired circumference for the base of the dome and cut it out from the existing false ceiling. Fix the COBRA 30 mm track around the full circumference.
Step 2
Cut a disc (of wood or plasterboard) to establish the height of the dome, and attach it to the ceiling.
Step 3
Bend the CONCAVEX Flexible Studs by hand, securing one end to the COBRA 30 mm track (at the base of the dome) and the other to the disc hung from the ceiling.
Step 4
Cut the plasterboard sheet material (thickness 6mm/10mm) into segments and position them on the studs, which will provide a continuous and perfectly shaped skeleton structure.
How to create a wavy ceiling with plasterboard
Step 1
Mark the outline of the false ceiling along the perimeter walls, following the desired curvature of the waves. Fix the COBRA 30 mm flexible tracks along the perimeter marked previously.
Step 2
Bend the COBRA 30mm track fixed previously to the wall, shaping it by hand with the variable angle feature from where the waves begin, so as to obtain the start/finish point of the curve radius (this done, the plasterboard sheets will be lodged securely between wall and profile, ready for fixing).
Step 3
Make up the wavy structure with CONCAVEX studs, following the curvature of the 30 mm track already installed and spacing the hangers as planned.
Step 4
Apply the plasterboard sheet material (thickness 6mm/10mm) directly to the contoured surfaces of the studs, which will provide a continuous and perfectly shaped skeleton structure.
How to create a barrel vault with plasterboard
Step 1
Mark the perimeter of the desired vault along the existing perimeter walls. Fix the COBRA 30 mm flexible tracks along the perimeter marked previously.
Step 2
Bend the variable angle lugs of the COBRA 30 mm track along the straight sides of the vault, so as to set the starting point for the plasterboard sheets.
Step 3
Make up the skeleton arch, forming a double metal framework consisting in a primary structure, then a secondary structure of CONCAVEX flexible studs and channel hangers, size 60x27 mm (in the same way as for a flat false ceiling). Mark up the hanger layout, spacing the points as planned, and using standard 60x27 mm accessories.
Step 4
Apply the plasterboard sheet material (thickness 6mm/10mm) directly to the contoured surfaces of the studs, which will provide a continuous and perfectly shaped skeleton structure.
How to create a curved wall with plasterboard
Step 1
Having established the curved line the wall is to follow, mark it out on the floor. Shape the COBRA flexible track, size 50/75/100mm, to match the curve.
Step 2
Anchor the COBRA flexible track to the floor and to the ceiling with screws.
Step 3
Locate and secure standard vertical studs in the COBRA tracks fixed previously to the floor and to the ceiling.
Step 4
Position and fix the plasterboard sheets, placing them horizontally.
